Overview
For nearly 50 years, JPH Charters has delivered world-class big game fishing from Black River – Mauritius’ legendary fishing capital. Run by the Henry family across two generations, we combine deep local knowledge with modern techniques to put you on trophy fish.
Blue marlin, black marlin, mako sharks, tiger sharks, yellowfin tuna, dogtooth tuna – they’re all here, just miles offshore. Fish year-round with peak marlin action from November to April. Whether you’re a first-timer or experienced angler, our expert crew tailors every trip to maximize your success.
Based at L’Estuaire, La Balise Marina, we are perfectly positioned on the west coast’s most productive fishing grounds. Your trophy catch is waiting.
Targeted species: Blue & Black Marlin, sailfish, wahoo, dorado, yellow fin and skipjack tuna.
Equipment used: Conventional 30 to 130 pounds rods and reels mounted with nylon line.
Technique used: Trolling between 7 to 8 knots with artificial lures and live baiting when live bait caught.
